We offer a balance of individual activities focused on self-discovery and shared experiences that promote communication and understanding. Engage in Classical Hatha Yoga, nature-based explorations, art and interactive workshops designed to build lasting bonds.

Shared Wellness and Connection: Classical Hatha Yoga for Adults and Teens:

Experience the transformative power of Classical Hatha Yoga together, guided by highly trained Hatha Yoga teachers (Yogesh, Tanamayi, Wei, Shanti) for over 1750 hours, certified by the world renowned Sadhguru Gurukulam, India. These age-appropriate practices, structured by Sadhguru, offer a holistic approach to mastering the body and mind, fostering shared well-being.

Discover how yoga transcends physical fitness, promoting health, joy, balance, and bliss—essential tools for navigating the complexities of modern life. Parents and teens will learn together:
  • Surya Shakti (Sun Energy) for physical vitality & balancing cardiac, muscular, skeletal, nervous, respiratory and hormonal functions in our system.
  • Thoppukarnam (Brain Yoga) for neurological alertness and balancing right and left brain.
  • Nadi Shuddhi (Breathing practice) & AUMkar Meditation (Yoga of Sound) for physical, mental and emotional balance, stress and anxiety.
  • Deeper dimensions of yogic culture, its impact on human system, benefits, and practical applications of classical yoga.
  • Life tools for sustained well-being.
Our experienced team, with over 20 years of working with adults and youth, will facilitate engaging, life-oriented activities designed to strengthen parent-teen bonds and inspire a healthy, happy, and responsible lifestyle.

Shared Experiences and Exploration:

Beyond yoga, the retreat offers a variety of enriching activities designed for shared exploration and connection which are optional.
  • Fun Dance Fiesta: Express yourselves together and let out some laughter.
  • Organic permaculture/lasagna/regenerative gardening: Learn sustainable practices as a team.
  • Natural movements and Self-defense: Build confidence and awareness.
  • Holistic vegetarian Meals & session: Discover healthy eating together.
  • Mentored hikes and Nature learning: Explore the beauty of Pisgah National Forest.
  • Fun team bonding activities including games promoting body-brain coordination: Strengthen your bond through play.
  • Disc golf, Pickle ball, Volley ball, Play area, Sauna: Shared recreation.
  • Swim in our creek-fed pond: Refresh and connect.
  • Stillness, stargazing, bonfire: Create lasting memories.


Special guests:

  • Samantha Muppalla, a physician from Kansas will be our in-house health care representative during the retreat.


Retreat Details:

Tentative Dates: July 4-6

  • Teen Age Requirements: Ages 12 to 17 (we consider ages 11 and 18 but confirmation happen after talking to the parents)
  • A teen or teens must be accompanied by one or two parents/grandparents/guardians.
  • To foster a fully immersive experience, teens will be invited to disconnect from their gadgets in an environment conducive to this. Accompanying adults will also be encouraged to do the same, inspiring their teens by example. While breaks will be provided for adults to handle essential communications, we encourage everyone to embrace the serenity of this space and unplug from electronics to make use the your efforts and time to be here.
  • Meals: Wholesome Vegetarian Meals catered to participants' dietary requirements.


Arrival and Departure:

  • Arrival: July 4th, by 12:00 PM. (Check-in is open from July 3rd, 5pm onwards. Dinner is provided @$10/guest. If all the participants arrive by 3rd night, we would start the retreat earlier than 12pm on the 4th which we will inform everyone on the 3rd night)


  • Departure: July 6th, 4:00 PM onwards or early as per your travel schedule. (6th night extension has a discounted fee of @$40/cabin. Check-out at 11 AM on July 7th. On the 7th, guided Yoga @$10/session/guest and $10/meal/guest)


  • Location: 218 Bald Rock Rd, Balsam Grove, NC - 28708.


Accommodation:

  • Parents, adults and teens will be accommodated in comfortable shared or separate accommodations, depending on preferences and availability.
  • Retreat cost includes glamping cabins with king bedroom or bunk bedroom options for a parent-teen pair.
  • The cabins offer access to our shared, sophisticated bathhouse, featuring separate facilities for ladies and gentlemen.
  • If a family of 3 or more joining, please email us to discuss the package mentioned above and accommodation.
  • Families or friends who desire The Bungalow (3 bed room), The Retreat house, A-frame houses and Yurts email programs@valleybearfarms.com to discuss options and additional costs.
  • Guests who drop their family are welcome to stay with them at a discounted fee and use our star-link wifi to work online.
  • A cleaning fee of $50/cabin is added to the package for the entire duration of the stay.


Travel Information:

  • For GPS or Directions: 218 Bald Rock Road, Balsam Grove, NC - 28708. We offer a large, open parking lot for safe and convenient parking.
  • Closest airport: Asheville Airport. Email programs@valleybearfarms.com for booking pick-up assistance.
  • Greenville Airport (GSP) is another option which further away from the resort.
