Experience the transformative power of Classical Hatha Yoga together, guided by highly trained Hatha Yoga teachers (Yogesh, Tanamayi, Shanti) for over 1750 hours, certified by the world-renowned Sadhguru Gurukulam, India. These age-appropriate practices, structured by Sadhguru, offer a holistic approach to mastering the body and mind, fostering shared well-being.
Discover how yoga transcends physical fitness, promoting health, joy, balance, and bliss—essential tools for navigating the complexities of modern life. Adults and their teens will learn together:
- Surya Shakti (Sun Energy) for physical vitality & balancing cardiac, muscular, skeletal, nervous, respiratory, and hormonal functions in our system.
- Thoppukarnam (Brain Yoga) for neurological alertness and balancing the right and left brain.
- Nadi Shuddhi (Breathing practice) & AUMkar Meditation (Yoga of Sound) for physical, mental, and emotional balance, stress, and anxiety.
- Deeper dimensions of yogic culture, its impact on the human system, benefits, and practical applications of classical yoga.

Our experienced team, with over 20 years of working with adults and youth, will facilitate engaging, life-oriented activities designed to strengthen parent-teen bonds and inspire a healthy, happy, and responsible lifestyle.
Shared Experiences and Exploration:
Beyond yoga, the retreat offers a variety of enriching activities designed for shared exploration and connection, which are included in your all-inclusive package, but you're welcome to flow with your own agenda if you'd like.

Your Facilitators
Yogesh
As Farm Manager at Valley Bear Farms, Yogesh integrates over 15 years of permaculture experience with a deep commitment to wellness. He’s a certified Movnat trainer and Classical Hatha Yoga instructor with 1,750+ hours of training in India, and over a decade of personal yoga and meditation practice.
His background also includes leading youth to victory in Uganda’s National Jiu-Jitsu Championship, studying traditional Tibetan art, and serving as a state park ranger—all reflecting his passion for movement, nature, and mindful living.
Tanamayi
With 28 years of yogic living, Tanamayi brings a vibrant blend of creativity and holistic wisdom to Valley Bear Farms. She’s a certified Classical Hatha Yoga instructor with 1,750+ hours of training in India, as well as a graphic designer, editor, and nature mentor.
Raised on a homestead and grounded in a pranic diet, she shares nourishing recipes through workshops and has been featured in the Transylvania Times. Her work spans teaching in India, Uganda, and the US; creating online dance programs during the pandemic, and inspiring joy through movement, food, and connection to nature.
Retreat Details:
- Age Requirements: For families joining together, children must be 12 and up and accompanied by an adult.
- To foster a fully immersive experience, participants will be invited to disconnect from their gadgets in an environment conducive to this. While breaks will be provided for adults to handle essential communications, we encourage everyone to embrace the serenity of this space and unplug from electronics to make use the your efforts and time to be here.
- Meals: Wholesome Vegetarian Meals catered to participants' dietary requirements.
Arrival and Departure:
- Arrival: July 3rd, suggested arrival by 9:00 PM. (Check-in time starts at 4:00 PM). Session starts on July 4th, 8:00 AM
- Departure: July 6th - we're offering a late checkout until 4 PM with activities ending at this time. If you need to depart earlier, you're welcome to adjust your travel schedule accordingly. Arriving early and staying later is available too.
Accommodation:
- Families will be accommodated in comfortable shared accommodations, based on availability at the time of booking. We will contact you after you submit your inquiry to discuss the remaining available units.
- The cabins offer access to our shared, sophisticated bathhouse, featuring separate facilities for ladies and gentlemen.
Travel Information:
- For GPS or Directions: 218 Bald Rock Road, Balsam Grove, NC - 28708. We offer a large, open parking lot for safe and convenient parking.
- Asheville Airport is the closest to the resort, at 1 hour away.
- Greenville Airport (GSP) is another option at 1 hour, 20 minutes from the resort.
Registration & Payment Processing:
- Click below to complete the retreat registration form, and we'll contact you within 24 hours (usually within 2!) to discuss remaining available accommodations.
- From there, we will send you the payment link to secure your retreat spots.
- Full payment is due at the time of registration.
- Payment is non-refundable, but a resort credit will be issued if you need to cancel within two weeks of the retreat arrival date. Cancellations within two weeks are non-refundable, non-transferable.
- A packing list will be sent once you're confirmed, and the only thing to do next is get excited!
